Windows 7 Public Beta Released

Well, as you probably know the Windows 7 Public Beta is released yesterday. I downloaded both 32-bit and 64-bit images and will try them when I get the chance.

You can get it here by the way:

If in case you try it, don’t forget to apply this(32-bit and 64-bit) patch since there are mp3 corruption issues in this build.(Build 7000)

Update: If you enable automatic downloading and installing of updates via Windows Update during installation, the necessary updates will be automatically installed for you!

The beta is only open to download for the first 2.5 million testers, so be quick 🙂

Update: MS decided to remove this limit, and you can download it until this Friday.

Unfortunately, I am too caught up with school right now. 😦 It will probably be a couple of days before I get the chance to install it, though from what I have heard it is pretty fast when compared to Windows Vista.

For now, just have a look at the caricature below and smile 🙂

You can also have a look at its new features from here. Of course, this information is preliminary and subject to change.

I remember the Windows Me Beta having the ability to play mp3s or videos right there from the left bar of Windows Explorer without having to open up another program; but in the end, it didn’t have that feature 🙂
