Start MS Outlook in Safe mode

Just a quick tip to let you know that you can start Outlook in safe mode by doing either of the following:

  • Hold Ctrl key as you click the Outlook shortcut
  • Add a command-line argument to the shortcut – /safe (i.e. run it with this command-line argument)

The first option also works on other Microsoft Office applications, dunno about the second one though.

Thanks for that tip. I never knew about holding the control button, only typing in the safe command under Run. So, thanks!

That was very helpful. Could not delete an email in the outbox. Opening it in Safe Mode fixed the issue.

I will suggest below statement as the above in the web site is still confusing.

“Hold Ctrl key as you click the Outlook shortcut” instead “Press Ctrl while the application is loading”

I’m really inspired along with your writing abilities and also with the format for your blog. Is that this a paid subject or did you modify it your self? Anyway keep up the nice high quality writing, it is uncommon to see a great weblog like this one these days..
